Du Daobin is a prolific internet political essayist from Hubei Province, China, and a member of the Independent Chinese PEN Center (ICPC). He was taken into custody on October 28, 2003 at his workplace and has been detained ever since. On April 21, 2004, Du Daobin was indicted by the Xiaogan procuratorate, Hubei, on the charge of "inciting subversion" based on 26 articles he posted online. On June 11, 2004, Du Daobin was sentenced for 3 years imprisonment and 2 years deprivation of political rights. The sentence was suspented for 4 years.
